Year 7 & 8 Science Fair

Science Fair

On Wednesday, Years 7 and 8 took part in their annual Science Fair, where pupils compete in a science or technology challenge to win the science fair trophy. This year, the challenge was to find, observe and research one of the animals found within our school site; anything from water fleas to foxes. In many cases, pupils were able to collect and observe animals directly, from pond samples and using fieldwork skills to capture and release organisms within the grounds. They then had to identify and research their selected species to create a presentation about it.

The pupils had great fun searching the grounds and samples from the pond for interesting and rare species and there were some outstanding presentations made by the end of the session. The winners will be announced during assembly next week. Dave Bennett
