Pupils on the Greenpower challenge this week finalised the electrical and mechanical elements of the “Blue Marlin” F24 car that will race at Goodwood on the 23rd February 2025. Jason, Zach, Lennox and George have been testing the transmission, horn and brake light. The bodywork was finished and then out on the astro to practice the pit stop strategies. Yes, it’s official. After 37 years at Holmewood, Mrs Porritt, Director of Sport, is retiring.
And what a great way to spend her penultimate week - overseeing the annual girls’ football tournament that she started four years ago. Along with her follow coaches at Rose Hill and Somerhill, Mrs Porritt wanted to give every girl from Years 3-6 the chance to play in an end of season tournament. This year approximately 900 girls from local prep schools played over the two days at the three venues which is incredible.
It was wonderful to see all the girls playing some great football on some perfect Holmewood pitches. Many thanks to the staff from the other hosting schools, to the visiting schools, and to the amazing Mrs Porritt and the team at Holmewood for such a hugely successful couple of days.

A massive well done to Art Scholar and Head Girl, Megan, for gaining an Art & Design Scholarship to Benenden School and an Art Exhibition to Kent College.
