Reception 7.2.25

Air Transport

Reception have had an amazing week learning all about Air Transport. We used balloons to further develop our eye hand co-ordination and lots of fun was had by all. We then used those balloons   to make our own hot air ballons , carefully measuring the string  to ensued they were not lopsided. The highlight of the week was making different types of aeroplanes from junk modelling, the children showed wonderful creativity and problem solving skills in this activity. Learning about capacity was linked though out topic  and they have mastered the associated vocabulary. This morning the children made their own sandwiches for snack, spreading the butter and the jam  and cutting them in half – this is a wonderfiul activity to do at home with them to further enhance those cutlery skills. The children made cupcakes and learnt to use a balance scale to measure out all ingredients to the weight of an egg – adding more or taking some away to ensure the scale was balanced. Schweitzer
