In Science this week, Year 3 have been focusing on what materials are magnetic and why. They had lots of fun planning an investigation to work out which British coins would be attracted to magnets.
Year 3 have been exploring length by measuring using both centimetres and millimetres this week.
🏑Girls` Hockey Highlights of the Week 🏑
🟠U11 girls competed in the Regional IAPS Hockey Tournament at Eastbourne College. They missed out on the Cup by one goal but went on to play in the Plate. After a strong quarter-final win, they were narrowly beaten in sudden death penalty shuffles in the semi-final. The third-place play-off ended 0–0, and both teams agreed to share third place.
🔴The U13 Girls’ 1st Team had a standout 6–3 away win over Bede’s, showing excellent teamwork, confident finishing and solid defending. One of their best performances of the season.
🔵The U10A team won 3–1 away against St Michael`s. Great awareness, strong goalkeeping and sharp finishing made for a well-earned result.
🟢The Under 8s wrapped up the half term with four wins against Somerhill. Improved confidence and understanding of positions were clear across the year group.
It’s been a fantastic hockey season, with great progress and commitment shown across all age groups. Well done to all the girls!

🟢 3rd XI vs Bede’s The unbeaten run continues. A gritty 2–1 win sealed with a late goal and heroic saves. Resilience and team spirit on full display.
🔵U11B vs Bede’s A commanding 4–0 victory. Adaptability, teamwork and sharp finishing kept the unbeaten season alive. One match to go.
🔴U10C vs Lingfield A thrilling 7–4 win in an end-to-end match. Confident link-up play and composure in front of goal made the difference.
🟠U9C vs New Beacon A dominant 5–0 performance. High pressing, quick counters and great energy throughout. Match of the day.
Well done to all teams for their effort, teamwork and determination this week.

Congratulations to Alana, Josh and Laurie who competed in the ESSKIA English Schools’ Dry Slope Championships in Norwich. Having qualified from the regional final, they did immensely well and we are so proud to announce that they finished 5th in the country for their age group!
