Year 1 15.11.24

English

1AF have been reading the book “The Paper Bag Princess”.  It is a lovely fairy tale with a twist.  The children have been looking at different clothes and what they might say about the person wearing them.  We wear clothing for certain jobs, to show off our personalities, religious purposes and celebrations.   Clothes can show off who we are.  The children designed their own paper bag outfits for the Paper Bag Princess.  This was a fun, creative activity where the children got to show off their design talents.  Antoinette Faure

Castle Doors

Today, 1CH went to the art room to make some castle doors with Mr Johnson. They learned all about terracotta and how to create different designs in the soft clay. They used stamps, tools, and small pieces of clay to create and add detail to their designs. The castle doors will now go in the kiln for the children to glaze in the next couple of weeks. Christmas Play Rehearsals are Underway!

We are so excited to be starting rehearsals for our Christmas play and have been enjoying singing the songs and learning actions this week. Today we even tried singing with a little LED tea light which really brought our Chinese Christmas song to life. Emma Bonwick
