Year 1 have been enjoying a little risk taking in Forest Schools this week having the chance to use the bow saw. They have enjoyed much swinging fun on the rope swing and have been looking for pine cones and worms to measure. We have also been looking for and measuring worms. Year 1 Team
1AF have been to visit the art studio today with Mr Johnson. He showed us how to make a clay castle door using special clay tools and stamps. We can now make marks in clay, create texture and join clay parts. Mr Johnson explained the process of having the clay fired, and we will visit again soon to glaze the doors. Thank you Mr Johnson. Year 4 had a wonderful trip to Knole House to consolidate their learning on the Tudors. The children immersed themselves in a range of hands‑on experiences such as exploring genuine Tudor artefacts, discovering local wildlife, calculating the age of ancient trees and even trying on Tudor costumes.
Touring the magnificent Knole House was a great way to bring the Tudor period to life, providing a valuable extension to their learning beyond the classroom.
It was a thoroughly educational and informative day, and our pupils represented the school with great interest throughout.
