For this week’s House Assembly, to celebrate Black History Month, the House Leaders presented on a historical figure who they felt inspired by. The people who were covered included the Williams’ sisters, Harriet Tubman and Nelson Mandela. Simon Jervis
We’re very excited to be welcoming Musical Theatre and Opera extraordinaire Stuart Pendred to Holmewood on Monday 12th May at 7pm in the Jubilee Theatre for our next Sound Sensations concert.
This promises to be a fun and interactive evening of fantastic music. Stuart has sung major operatic roles across the UK and starred in shows including Les Misérables, Calamity Jane, Kiss Me Kate and Wuthering Heights.
The event is open to all and suitable for adults and children from Year 3 upwards. Stuart will also be running a free workshop for the Holmewood children during the day.
Welcome drinks from 6.30pm – we’d love to see as many of you there as possible!

We recently hosted the first 'Holmewood House Online Cook Along' where Head Chef Richard from Culinera gave a live cooking demonstration online to pupils staff and parents. From menu planning and how to use knives safely to combining flavours and when to wash our hand, Richard took us through how to cook a complete dish for your family from start to finish. We also enjoyed some questions and answers throughout, ranging form favourite puddings to how to get more vegetables into your diet.
At Holmewood we are committed to Healthy Eating, and this was another great way to reinforce the education provided as part of our My Heart lessons in school. Like all good education, if we can instil those habits now, they will benefit the children for the rest of their lives. There is already great excitement on what we will cook along to next! In a manner a bit like The Great British Bake Off, it will be pudding week next time!
