In art we have learnt about the Irish sculptor Eva Rothschild. We looked at different sculptures she has designed and then using cocktail sticks and plasticine we had a go at making our own sculptures.
We remembered from our trip to Herstmonceux that triangles were the strongest geometric shape. It was rather a fiddly activity, and much concentration was required with the occasional concentration tongue sticking out! The Year 2 Team
Year 4 had a wonderful trip to Knole House to consolidate their learning on the Tudors. The children immersed themselves in a range of hands‑on experiences such as exploring genuine Tudor artefacts, discovering local wildlife, calculating the age of ancient trees and even trying on Tudor costumes.
Touring the magnificent Knole House was a great way to bring the Tudor period to life, providing a valuable extension to their learning beyond the classroom.
It was a thoroughly educational and informative day, and our pupils represented the school with great interest throughout.
