Year 4 have had a great team building day with a theme of celebrating Roald Dahl. A morning of activities, creating Mr Twit’s beard, making a marvellous medicine and designing a chocolate bar was followed by a lovely sunny walk and a picnic. Charlotte Hall
At the end of June, The Friends of Holmewood hosted their spectacular Summer Ball – and what a night it was! A fabulous evening full of fun, laughter, and community spirit, all while raising vital funds for school projects and local charities.
The Friends of Holmewood continue to do a phenomenal job, tirelessly fundraising and organising events that enrich the school experience and help teach the children the importance of giving back. In May, our pupils had the opportunity to hear from Tree of Hope, one of the local charities supported by the Friends. It was a powerful reminder of how our support extends far beyond the Holmewood gates, reaching those in need across the wider community.
We would also like to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you and farewell to a truly special person, Chelsea Crathern. Chelsea has been instrumental in the success of the Friends over recent years. Her passion, energy, and dedication have made a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for everything she has done.
Please keep an eye out for upcoming events, including the much-loved Family Fun Day on Sunday 14th September 2025, from 12–4pm. Book your tickets now (link in bio). And if you would like to join the Friends, please email friends@holmewoodhouse.co.uk.
Thank you again to everyone who helped make the Summer Ball such a success and to @friendsofholmewood, for all that you continue to do.

The Boarding House is ready!
Caolan, Isobel and the team (including of course, Ralph, the Cavapoo) are really looking forward to welcoming our boarders to Holmewood this evening and into their new home.
The weather might have stopped the BBQ and lawn games, but the fun will carry on indoors with everyone gathering for supper in the new common room and kitchen.
We hope that all our families have had a wonderful summer and are ready for a great year ahead.
Tomorrow we can`t wait to welcome the rest of the school!
