Celebration of International Women’s Day 8th March 2023! The children have immersed themselves in a range of activities in celebration, from making badges to writing cards.
We had a brilliant spray-painting workshop yesterday with the Art Scholarship Readiness group, led by the fantastic Steph Warren and Duncan Weston.
Steph, who runs a gallery on the South Coast and has deep roots in community and school arts projects, brought a wealth of experience – from early collaborations with Banksy at Pictures on Walls to her recent work on the BBC podcast The Banksy Story with James Peak.
Each pupil had the chance to explore their own creative direction on individual plywood panels using non-toxic, water-based spray-paints. They also joined forces on a large-scale collaborative piece inspired by movement and pattern, guided by Steph and Duncan’s expert eye.
A huge thank you to both artists for such an inspiring session!
