At the end of last term, Year 6 had been busy putting their learning into action. In geography they visited the Year 3 and 4 corridor to share their brilliant weather-hazard presentations, adapting their language and resources so the younger pupils could enjoy floods, hurricanes, droughts, tornadoes and heatwaves brought to life through videos animations and quizzes.
In maths, Mrs Bennett’s class took on the challenge of teaching divisibility rules to Year 5, transforming a tricky topic into songs, quizzes, presentations and even fortune tellers.
A fantastic effort from all of Year 6 as they used their knowledge creativity and leadership to engage the younger years.

Holmewood has always welcomed short-stay pupils seeking an immersive experience and the chance to strengthen their English and we are continually enriched by the wonderful young people who join us from around the world. At the end of term we said a heartfelt goodbye to one of those pupils, Liza, whose warmth and enthusiasm have lit up our school.

“quickly made friends and it feels like she has been here longer than a few weeks.
We are very proud of the wonderfully diverse international environment Holmewood is famous for and welcoming overseas pupils even for a few weeks enriches it all the more. We look forward to hearing about Liza`s next adventures as "Once a Holmewoodian always a Holmewoodian".
