Preparations for Matilda, the Musical are getting underway in the Holmewood Jubilee Theatre. The cast and crew are working extremely hard in the week leading up to the performances next week. The theatre has been a hive of activity. Pupils from Years 6, 7 and 8 will be performing and participating in this theatrical extravaganza. The lastest arrival backstage is Bruce Bogtrotters Chocolate cake – looks delicious!
Yes, it’s official. After 37 years at Holmewood, Mrs Porritt, Director of Sport, is retiring.
And what a great way to spend her penultimate week - overseeing the annual girls’ football tournament that she started four years ago. Along with her follow coaches at Rose Hill and Somerhill, Mrs Porritt wanted to give every girl from Years 3-6 the chance to play in an end of season tournament. This year approximately 900 girls from local prep schools played over the two days at the three venues which is incredible.
It was wonderful to see all the girls playing some great football on some perfect Holmewood pitches. Many thanks to the staff from the other hosting schools, to the visiting schools, and to the amazing Mrs Porritt and the team at Holmewood for such a hugely successful couple of days.

A massive well done to Art Scholar and Head Girl, Megan, for gaining an Art & Design Scholarship to Benenden School and an Art Exhibition to Kent College.
Mr Johnson, Head of Art, said "Megan has consistently been a highly dedicated and conscientious Art Scholar, demonstrating great perseverance and effort in her art projects over the past few years and being a great role model to younger pupils. She has developed impressive skills with multi-media pieces, including painting and digital design, as well ceramic work."
