Holmewood House prep school in Tunbridge Wells is very much a family school where the positive relationships between the teachers and pupils allows us to get to know and understand the individual needs of each and every child.

Holmewood House is a co-educational, non-selective school for boys and girls aged 3-13 years, situated in 30 acres of glorious grounds in Tunbridge Wells.

Year 1 had the wonderful privilege of watching caterpillars transform from tiny wriggling creatures into beautiful butterflies. 🦋 They enjoyed the much-anticipated moment of releasing them back into nature. They were delighted that the butterflies lingered for a little while, almost as if they were saying a gentle goodbye. The Undefeated Colts A A brilliant, high‑quality match at Hawthorns this week, played in beautiful surroundings and full of tension from start to finish. Hawthorns set a challenging 130 for 8, with Will G producing an outstanding spell of 3 for 25, all caught and bowled, plus two more catches in the field. The chase began under pressure and at 25 for 4 the task looked steep. Albert O steadied things before an unbeaten stand of 73 from Basti J (50 not out) and Will G (23 not out) turned the game on its head. Basti hit the winning boundary to reach his fifty and secure a superb five‑wicket win with 14 balls remaining. A fantastic team effort and a joy to watch. Our cricket programme is going from strength to strength!
It’s great to see our pupils in pre-prep progressing with their skills.
At the top end of the school, we have had some great results this term with 74 cricket matches played across boys and girls of all ages with high win ratios for both.
Our colts teams have been particularly strong with the boys colts A team undefeated and the girls colts team only having lost a single game by the narrowest of margins.
In partnership with senior schools we are bringing in some top coaches. On Friday former cricket professional Mike Smethurst, the Director of Cricket at Roedean School, took a masterclass which was attended by all girls from years 5 to 8.
From training to fixtures, it has been a strong start as we head into the second half of the Summer Term!

The Swim School holds classes for children of all abilities and is open to Holmewood pupils as well as the wider community and takes places after the Holmewood school day has finished and on a Saturday morning.
Holmewood House School has been running holiday courses since 1998. We aim to offer a wide variety of courses for children aged 5-12 in a secure and relaxed environment.

The chaperone service that Holmewood House offers has meant that our son has been able to access the best of both worlds, a country boarding school during the week where he can enjoy the space and facilities which are very hard to come by in London and then is able to come home every Friday to enjoy a full weekend with family. It is extremely convenient to be able to pick him up & drop off from central London & is workable on top of the other commitments I have! He looks forward to his trips on the train where he gets any unfinished homework done and then is able to relax at home
