Holmewood House prep school in Tunbridge Wells is very much a family school where the positive relationships between the teachers and pupils allows us to get to know and understand the individual needs of each and every child.
We foster their talents and nurture their growth through a broad, balanced, challenging and exciting curriculum and, in doing so, create an environment whereby each child is provided with every opportunity to fulfil their potential. We believe that emotional and social well-being, self-esteem, happiness and confidence are of prime importance and are in themselves inextricably linked to academic progress.
We would be delighted to hear from you and invite you to contact us for any queries you may have. You can reach us on 01892 860000, via email at admissions@holmewoodhouse.co.uk or by filling out this contact form to request a call back.
🍀 Active Learning at Holmewood 🌸
Here at Holmewood, we feel it is important for our youngest children to utilise all learning spaces on offer both indoors and outside to support their physical development.
⛹️♀️During their visits to the sports hall the children enjoy learning new skills such as throwing, catching and kicking balls and working out how to negotiate obstacle courses
✏️ In the classroom, sensory play and mark-making activities help build those all-important gross motor skills.
🌲 Out in the Nursery woods, children climb low branches for core strength and weave between trees to develop spatial awareness
📸 Technology play is also key - whether pressing buttons on role-play cameras and tills or exploring push-and-pull resources
And of course our amazing Nursery staff are here to guide them in developing their cutlery skills, personal independence and kindness towards their friends.
We love seeing the children grow in confidence as they learn through movement, play and exploration.
