Destination Schools

Every year, several pupils secure offers to local Grammars at 11+ including Judd School, Skinners’ School, Tonbridge Girls’ Grammar School, Tunbridge Wells Boys’ Grammar School and Tunbridge Wells Girls’ Grammar School.

However, the majority of our pupils (over 70%)  stay at Holmewood through Years 7&8, moving on at 13+ to continue their education at a wide range of leading senior schools (see below).

When it comes to the important decisions around senior school at 11 or 13, we guide parents with genuine expertise and an in‑depth understanding of the full senior school landscape. As an independent school, we are proud of our strong record in helping pupils secure places at the schools that are the very best fit for them.

We recommend beginning this journey in the Autumn Term of Year 5, when we provide presentations and workshops to support parents in making informed choices. It is essential that parents and the school work closely together to identify the right destination for each child, and once that choice has been made, we offer tailored support throughout the entry process.

At any point in your child’s time at Holmewood House, you are warmly invited to meet with the Head to discuss future schools and explore the pathways that will allow your child to thrive.
