👏 Scholarship Success 👏
Huge congratulations to Delilah on her Head`s Award to Ardingly College.
Over her time at Holmewood, Delilah has thrown herself into every opportunity, excelling at Art, and she has been a vital part of the Greenpower team. Ardingly said she excelled especially in Philosophy, where her clear, fluent expression and well-reasoned arguments were impressive.
"Delilah has worked so hard, has been highly motivated to achieve and richly deserves this great success" - Paul Morgan-Jones.
Well done Delilah, we are very proud of you.

At the end of the Spring Term, we said goodbye to Mrs Porritt after 30 years of teaching at Holmewood.
Having first joined us in 1996, Mrs Porritt has built up the fabulous girls’ sports programme from all but scratch, been a fantastic form teacher and tutor, a fabulous Yew Housemistress for 15 years and, before that a House Tutor in Yew for 10 years. A much-loved teacher, she has shaped the lives of countless pupils through her warmth, integrity and encouragement.
“Thank you for teaching me healthy competitiveness, good sportsmanship and so many sports that I love and still play today” – former pupil.
“What’s always stood out about Mrs Porritt is the way she helps students believe in themselves. She has a real gift for showing young people they’re capable of more than they think - on and off the court - encouraging resilience, perseverance, and true sportsmanship. She’s taught generations how to handle both wins and setbacks with confidence and grace. Thank you, Mrs Porritt, for your endless enthusiasm, your dedication, and for somehow surviving 30 years of minibus journeys filled with questionable singing!” – former pupil and current parent.
We thank Mrs Porritt for everything she has given to the school and for all she has done for girls’ sport over her time here. Goodbye, good luck and thank you, Mrs Porritt. Enjoy your retirement - you deserve it
