U11 & U13 IAPS Netball Success

After the great successes of a few weeks ago in which the U11 Netball team won the Regional title and the U13 Netball team were runners up, last week saw both team travel to Epsom to play in the National Finals.
The U11 team performed brilliantly throughout the morning and won five of their seven matches. In a group where there was a mixed bag of results with all teams losing at some point, the Holmewood girls were runners up in the group and achieved a place in the quarter finals. Unfortunately they lost to a slick side from Bishopsgate School, but played their hearts out. To achieve a place in the top eight in the country is fantastic and all of the girls should be very proud of themselves.
Results
v Solihull Won 8-3
v The Marist Won 5-2
v St.George’s Won 11-5
v The Study Lost 6-8
v Warwick Junior Won 9-5
v Chesham Prep Lost 2-8
v Lambrook Won 6-1
Quarter Finals v Bishopsgate Lost 3-10
The U13 team were up against some very tall girls and in what was possibly the busiest week of the year, they rose to the challenge of the finals. They had some close matches and won against Belmont Mill Hill, but just couldn’t convert their possession into goals in the match v Dean Close which would have got them through to the next stages of the plate. To be in the top 24 prep schools in the country is in itself a great achievement and again, something to be very proud of.
