TV Star Tristan Gemmill Visits Holmewood
TV star and Old Holmewoodian, Tristan Gemmill (Oak 1974-80) was given a very warm welcome when he returned to his alma mater recently. He gave a very interesting talk about his career to date to the school and then spent the rest of the day leading drama workshops.
He remembered Messrs Soutar, Freeman and Smith with affection and said that rugby with Mr Soutar was his favourite sport. He began his acting career in musicals here, before going on to Tonbridge and Melbourne Grammar school.
He emphasised what a long haul it usually is for actors to gain recognition and that employment is always uncertain but he greatly enjoys his current TV drama programme and working with a delightful team of people. He works six days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. so the schedule is a demanding one for a T.V. actor.
After his talk he was much in demand for autographs! We are very grateful to him for sparing the time to visit us.
