Year 8 pupils at the Houses of Parliament
Hear! Hear! The Ayes have it! Well, the girls and boys in Year 8, at least, had it.
All the pupils in Year 8 visited the Houses of Parliament on Monday to have a tour and find out how our laws are proposed, debated and passed. The groups went into the House of Commons and even watched a Select Committee in session, as well as taking part in a superb workshop on the law making process in which the girls and boys had to put forward and steer a law of their choice through their own mini-chamber.
The day provided a great insight into the workings of our democratic government and underlined the importance and strength of our British values.
