The Commute to London

Many of our parents commute to London. There is a regular train service from Tunbridge Wells to London Bridge/ London Charing Cross or Cannon Street. There are four trains per hour to London Bridge and Charing Cross, and a frequent service to Cannon Street during the rush hour. Many trains start from Tunbridge Wells, so it is rare not to get a seat.

The train journey into Charing Cross takes between 45 and 50 minutes, which can be usefully spent reading the paper, working on your laptop or simply just relaxing.

Tunbridge Wells is on the branch line to Hastings, which serves the villages of Frant, Wadhurst etc. The Hastings line passes through Sevenoaks and Tonbridge. The line from Ashford also passes through Tonbridge. As such, if you want a slightly faster commute and a wider choice of trains, our relocation agents can help you to find a house ideally situated to enable your children to attend Holmewood and you to catch the train from Tonbridge.

Southern Rail also operates a regular rush hour service from Eridge or Crowborough into London Bridge. This is the Uckfield branch of the Oxted line. The train passes through Edenbridge, Hever, Cowden and Ashurst. The commute from Eridge is significantly cheaper than the commute from Tunbridge Wells.
