Year 2 10.10.25

This week in Science, Year 2 became brilliant ball investigators! We carried out an exciting experiment to find out which surface a ball would travel the furthest on. Before testing, we made our predictions and talked about the different variables – deciding what we needed to change and what should stay the same to make it a fair test. Great thinking and teamwork, Year 2!

In English this week, Year 2 have been diving into stories and letting their imaginations run wild! We explored ‘The Little Story That Didn’t Want to Be Told’ but this time, we listened without any pictures. This helped us imagine the scenes and characters for ourselves, which led to some fantastic descriptive writing using clues from the text as well as our own ideas.

We also revisited the lovely tale of ‘The Bear and the Piano’, having a go at retelling it with rich, descriptive language to really bring it to life for our listeners. Alongside this, we’ve been learning how to use the conjunctions and, but and or to make our sentences more interesting and varied. Year 2 have been amazing storytellers this week.  Well done!

This week in year 2 the children became the storytellers and in partners retold the story of ‘The Bear and the Piano’
