Lymley Wood Trip
We had the most fantastic day at Lymley Wood today. The children all thoroughly enjoyed every activity. We played on the adventure playground testing our agility on ropes courses and balancing on wooden beams. Then we had a snack in the meadow before heading back to the woods to learn about habitats. The children learned what nests are made of before having a go foraging for materials to make their own nests. After we finished creating them, the children hid their nests all over the woodland for animals to find.
For lunch, we settled down to a big picnic and then had some free play on the nets and mud kitchen in the trees. Finally, to finish the day we sat around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and making s’mores before swinging on a big swing and playing team games. What a day! The children all got involved with everything and it was magical to spend an entire day outside enjoying the woodland. Year 1 Team
