A Busy Christmas Week
Father Christmas and his elves are going to be even busier now after receiving the children’s Christmas wish lists. We talked about the importance of giving and how even though it is joyous to open up new toys on December 25th, the greatest gift of all is to love and be loved. The postal rooms and workshop were the hive of activity as the children set to work weighing and wrapping up gifts, looking up addresses and sticking stamps in the corner of envelopes to send off to the North Pole.
All was quiet (as can be) in the Nursery classrooms until we heard a thud! Mistletoe the mouse came rolling in with our Christmas tree and a present. Inside was a set of decorations and a note. “I have been sent by your cuddly friends Max and Maisy to deliver this gift to help you get into the festive spirit”. We had a jolly time putting the baubles up high and down low, and finished with a story called “Lettice”, about a Rabbit who peeps out of her burrow to find her world covered in snow on Christmas day.
